Isle Digital Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions are unfortunately an irritating necessity as a result of those few who think that bidding on eBay is not a serious business, and as a result do not pay, do not communicate, and make life difficult for the rest of us. While this is more than likely not you, there may be a few points below you need to know so do read on, and if you have any queries or questions, please do ask them before you bid. We are extremely friendly and approachable (only not so when people don’t pay, or do other silly things!!!) so do ask away and we will reply as soon as we can, often immediately, always within 24 hours if at all possible. Please be aware you are dealing with a ‘proper business’ here, part of Isle Communications Group Ltd, so we will always do things properly, and above all, above board. The point is, we do like to deal with people of a like mind. As we say, apologies for all this, it really is only a very small percentage of people who cause problems. Payment

  • Please make sure when you bid that you firstly, both want the item, and secondly, have the means to pay for it . Whilst we do have a no quibble money back guarantee it is in no-ones interests to use this – you have to pay for the item to be returned and it must be unopened and unused, ie not simply not wanted, not tried for a while and then not wanted. All new electronic items are sent out ‘sealed’ so an opened item will be regarded as having been used.
  • Please pay within 7 days of completion of the auction / purchase. Any longer than this is unacceptable – think of buying things elsewhere, you pay for them there and then, and this should be no different. The only exceptions to this are by prior arrangement BEFORE the end of the auction, not afterwards.
  • PayPal is great. Use it if you have it – we do not charge for this method of payment. It costs us a little but we don’t care because it is quick and efficient and it works. Also feel free to pay by personal cheque, but be aware that your goods will be held until your cheque has cleared so don’t be upset if it takes a while – a function of the Great British clearing bank system. Postal orders are great, cash too, but DO NOT SEND UNREGISTERED.

Postage, Packing and Shipping Some of this is very important, please read carefully . Firstly, do not bid on an item if you think our postage is unfair. If you are not in the UK, please ask BEFORE the auction ends what p and p will be. We believe our rates are extremely good – we do not do this part to make a profit, but as eBay themselves say, “ A shipping and handling fee can cover the seller's reasonable costs for mailing, packaging and handling” ie it does NOT just mean the cost of the stamps. We NEVER ever send goods out uninsured. This is in both your interests and ours, for obvious reasons. There is a tendency for some people to want the cheapest method of despatch. Isle Digital do not work like this. You will probably have bought something worth a few bob, which may be fragile and / or delicate. For just a little extra, insurance, and care and attention to postage and packing is more than worthwhile, believe us, we know what the postal system can be like! The above also applies to overseas shipments. We are happy to despatch anywhere in the world, but we do not like people disputing the amount we charge – ask before the auction ends and we will let you know. We do not do this to make a profit, merely to cover postage and a very small amount for the materials, and administration costs – these do exist, contrary to what some people seem to think. As everything, UK and elsewhere is sent recorded, a tracking number is always available. If you would like this, just let us know and we are always happy to send you it so you can keep tabs on your delivery as it wings its way towards you.

Winning Bids

We have to point out, that by winning a bid on eBay you are entering into a legally binding contract – please see eBay’s own terms if you need further information or clarification on this. So, with this in mind, having won, you are obliged to pay. Within 7 days please, unless, as it says above, prior arrangements have been made BEFORE the end of the auction / sale. If payment is not received within 7 days, you will be reported to eBay as a none payer and black marked, negative feedback left, and the item immediately offered for sale again.

New and Used

The majority of goods offered by Isle Digital are New. Products are sourced worldwide, evaluated, tested, benchmarked, and imported by Isle Digital with all VAT, duty and other tax paid. ALL items are despatched from within the UK – Isle are based in Yorkshire, England. ALL new products carry full manufacturer’s warranty of at least 12 months, sometimes longer. Depending on the item, this will be a return to us basis or a return to manufacturer basis. If you need to know, please ask us. If goods are Used it will say so clearly in the eBay advertisement (as it will with new also of course). Used goods cannot be warrantied – as the legal men say, no warranty is implied or given. If you do have any problems with any of our products, either new or used, please do talk to us. We are very a friendly bunch (reading this may make you think otherwise, but believe us, we are!). Most problems can be sorted out by communication, and it is lack of this that causes the majority of our headaches. That’s about it really. We hope the above demonstrated how serious Isle Digital are about eBay – it is not meant to put you off or frighten you, just to show that we are a professional and serious business, wanting to supply you with a whole bunch of quality consumer electronics at very reasonable prices which we know you will enjoy, and we will enjoy suppliying.

Copyright

And finally, another unfortunate necessity. Please note that ALL photography on Isle Digital's listings are original and under the ownership of Isle Communications Group Ltd and protected under copyright, as are all original product descriptions. Neither may be used without written permission, and action will be taken against anyone who thinks it's OK to take our pictures and words and use them, because they are actually very good, and take a very long time to produce. Use of them without permission is unfortunately theft and action will be taken accordingly.
If you have any doubts, see our feedback, or simply contact us. Thank you for reading, and Happy Bidding.
